Health & Hygiene

Community toilet and total sanitation facilities has been created in 945 places so far. All cultural centres has the facility as the centre will be used for several time on a daily basis. Each community toilets has at least three individual toilets and cleaning facility. The programme has reached to 22 states. Through this programme RCFI intent to motivate people to build very quality toilets nearby their community centres, gathering places and institutions. So the hygiene of the village and premise will be ensured.

The organization has constructed 51 individual toilets during the period. The main motive of this initiatives was to motivate nearby people to construct low cost toilets and cleaning facility. All of them are constructed by using quality materials available at the local area. Every centers has proper water facility and hygiene centers. Most of them are constructed in remote villages.

Unhygienic sanitation practices have serious health implications especially for vulnerable groups. Young children suffer from water borne diseases due to lack of clean water, sanitation facilities and improper handling of solid and liquid waste. This programme intended to build community level personal hygiene canter where the people can come and use them for the same purpose. All the cultural centre, education institutes, orphan and children homes have the personal hygiene corners at various capacity. All of them are built with vary quality materials and more than 10 people can use the facility at a time. There are 943 personal hygiene corners constructed across deferent states of India.

There are 11 clinks established in several parts of Kerala and Nihi Nagar of West Bengal. All of them are in primary health care clinics. RCFI also took an initiative to renovate a clinic with the mutual support of the government department in Kodiyathur village. The local primary health centre is working in that building. More than 42,000 people used the facility during the year. CFI also completed a work of dialysis centre in Madathum Poyil village of Kozhikode district. The center can be used by 27 people in a day. It also has all the facilities needed for such an institute. In the initial year the center run without taking any cost from the patients. They all took the services with free of cost. But the organization intent to have a deferential price system for coming years. During 2019, 2800 patients used the facility.
